Parenting Classes offered at Centralia College Teacher Education and Family Development Program

The goal of Teacher Education and Family Development is to strengthen families by providing education and support. Offers both group and individual parenting classes to meet the needs of families. Offers classes for parents who are court-ordered or CPS referred to take parenting classes. Level UP classes are designed for parents with children under age 12. Uses nurturing parenting techniques to increase parent's positive guidance and effective parenting strategies. The class is a group setting for interaction with children, and it includes supervised visitation for parents who do not have custody of their children. Parents as Teachers is available to Lewis County residents with a child birth-3 years of age. Provides home visits, screenings and assessments along with group community connections. Parents have the opportunity to engage their child in a hands on activity during each home visit. The parent educator is there to support and guide the parent. Visits are scheduled at a time convenient for the family and the parent educator. PIR (Parenting in Recovery) class is designed to support recovering families as they begin to rebuild trusting relationships, renew family bonds and reverse the impact of substance use on family dynamics. Social Kids - partners with the Lewis County Autism Coalition to provide a 6-week program for parents and children, ages 7 to 15 on the Autism Spectrum.

Application process

Call Program Coordinator for more information about current classes and to obtain a registration form. All classes earn college credit upon successful completion.

Parents with children ages birth to 18 years old.
