Dads Support Groups offered at DadsMOVE - Tacoma

Provides support groups that are designed as a healthy outlet for Fathers of special needs children. Brings together fathers to discuss the daily challenges of life raising a child with special needs or behavioral health challenges. All groups are led by a trained facilitator. Seeks to provide every parent/caregiver (especially dads) the tools, support and training needed to be fully engaged in the recovery of their children. No parent should be excluded from the opportunity to help their children and family flourish, and recover. Helps answer questions about systems navigation, IEP/504/Special Education, community resources or almost anything else that relates to raising kids with emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns.

Dedicated to engaging fathers and other male caregivers of children with mental, emotional, and behavioral health concerns in their families' recovery. Through support, education, and tools, freely given to every male caregiver, we believe that success is inevitable. Dads MOVE offers all of our services in a 1:1 Peer setting as well as individual online learning, community events and virtual and in person groups and workshops. Offers an extensive Training Institute that provides workshops to agencies, providers and family members on topics that include: - IEP (Individualized Education Plans) - Parenting Skills - Anti-Bullying program - De-escalation - Collaborative Problem Solving - Ending Isolation and Stigma - Parents Empowering Parents - Mental Health First Aid - Wraparound and High Fidelity Wraparound - WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) - Crisis Intervention Training (for Law Enforcement/First Responders).
