Parent to Parent Support Program offered at Walla Walla Valley Disability Network

Provides emotional support and information to families/caregivers of children with special needs and/or disabilities. Utilizes trained veteran parents "Helping Parents" who provide one-on-one support to new or referred parent who have a child with similar needs. Programs include: - Emotional Support - Monthly meeting - Social events and networking opportunities for families - Information and referrals to community resources - Workshops, trainings, and conference - Current information on disabilities, medical conditions, and health concerns - Trained Helping Parents whose parenting experiences match your as closely and possible - Peer Mentor Training of middle school and high school peers who want to actively engage their peers with disabilities and assists in WWWVDN recreational opportunities - Public awareness and outreach to the community regarding people with specials needs and disabilities

Eligibility

Any individuals with developmental disabilities and/or special healthcare needs qualify along with their families (includes parent, siblings, grandparent, and guardians). Must be a parent/caregiver of a person with special needs and/or disabilities.
