Eligibility

Serves kinship families in Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Skamania, Klickitat and Clark counties. Kinship families are formed when grandparents or other relatives care for children whose own parents are unable to care for them. The arrangement can be informal and private; in other situations, the local child welfare agency is involved.

Description

Provides advocacy, information and referral services to those who are raising their relatives' children either temporarily or long term. Includes information about how to access and apply for services as well as problem solve and advocate for kinship families when or if issues arise. Offers advocacy and referral, support groups, parent education, child care, legal guidance, housing assistance, financial support and medical, dental and mental health resources.

Promotes independence, choice, wellbeing, and dignity of people age 60 and older and adults with disabilities and their families through a comprehensive, coordinated system of home and community-based services.
