Early Intervention Services offered at Pierce County Human Services - Developmental Disabilities
Supports infants and toddlers experiencing delays or disabilities relating to cognitive, communication, physical, social-emotional, and/or self-help development. Early intervention includes screening and evaluation, service coordination, therapy, and education for the child and family. Services are provided to every eligible family, regardless of their ability to pay.

Eligibility
A child, age 0 to 3, with a qualifying disability or delay in any developmental domain is eligible for services. Provides free screenings and can connect the family to a variety of local services. Anyone in the community can make a referral by calling or emailing Pierce County's early intervention central referral point.

Provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities in Pierce County, and their families, through contracts with various agencies in the community. Assesses needs, develops plans and services, contracts for and monitors service delivery, and is responsible for county wide information and education, early intervention programs for children with developmental delays, from birth to three years, and employment and community access programs for adults 21 and older.
