Civil Legal Aid offered at Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Legal Aid

Coordinates civil legal aid with the help of licensed attorneys and skilled staff in the categories of vacation of criminal record, eviction prevention, protection orders / trauma-informed family law, divorce, custody, support, general legal aid, guardianship and wills, and landlord/tenant issues from the perspective of the tenant. Offers a bi-weekly Civil Tribal Legal Clinic addressing family law, landlord/tenant, wills and estate planning, contracts, and homeownership. Offers a weekly Drop-In Clinic at the Cowlitz County Hall of Justice, and a bi-weekly general civil legal clinic. Offers a bi-weekly legal clinic at Cowlitz Family Health Center. Also provides free legal forms to the public for different civil legal issues.

Office: M-Th, 9am-4pm F, 9am-4pm remote services only with no walk ins, closed holidays. Civil Tribal Legal Clinic: 2nd and 4th Tu, 10am-noon.

Eligibility

Income no greater than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, (after deducting eligible expenses) resident of Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Pacific, or Lewis Counties, or for cases filed in those counties.
