Head Start/Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program offered by Kent Youth and Family Services at Kent Valley ECEAP

Coordinates Head Start and the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) preschools, which provide education and socialization skill development activities.   Family support services are part of the program.   Provides services at six sites in Kent and Covington in Kent School District.

Eligibility

Children ages 3-5 whose families make less than 110% of the Federal Poverty Level. Prioritizes children of color, dual language learners, homeless families, foster children and families below 110% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Kent Youth and Family Services

Offers transitional housing and support for homeless single young mothers, ages 16-17 who are at least six months pregnant or who have one or two children. Provides substance use disorder treatment and counseling for behavioral problems involving youth and their family. Runs Head Start and ECEAP programs. Provides a homework help program for children and youth in Kent area public housing.
