Behavioral Health Specialist/Social Worker can provide home-based psychosocial assessments and referrals, counseling, conflict resolution, anger management, physical/mental abuse, chemical dependency, depression and relationships. Nutritionists are avalable to provide clinic or home-based nutrition assessments, education, and counseling.

First Steps Program offered at Snohomish County Health Department Clinic South County

Provides information to pregnant women regarding needs related to thier pregnancy, physical and mental health concerns, nutrition, education, and homelessness.

Programs that help pregnant individuals become aware of their alternatives including abortion, evaluate their options, and reach decisions that are appropriate for their individual situations. Counseling is generally also available for significant others, upon request.

Pro-Choice Pregnancy Counseling

Programs that provide educational and supportive services that help new parents or those expecting a child, to prepare them on an emotional and practical level for the impact the newborn will have on their lives and relationships. The programs are open to all parents. Initial focus areas include healthy eating for the mother, danger signs in pregnancy, sibling preparation and being ready for labor and delivery, followed by practical information on basic infant care, newborn behaviors, baby supplies, bathing techniques, diapering, breastfeeding and other feeding options, as well as infant and childhood illnesses. Later topics may include walking, talking, toilet training and other aspects of child development, all to help ensure that infants and toddlers are nurtured, live in a safe environment and receive proper health care.

General Expectant/New Parent Assistance

Programs that provide workshops, classes, counseling or other forms of support for people who wish to conceive a child. Topics may include reproductive health information, support surrounding the decision to conceive, preparing for pregnancy, conception planning/fertility monitoring methods, lifestyle issues and supporting a spouse/partner through the conception process. Included are programs structured for single individuals of any gender, GBLTQ families and others who may wish to consider options such as fertility treatment, natural fertility support, in vitro insemination, egg or sperm donation, surrogacy or embryo adoption.

Conception Options Support Programs

Programs that encourage individuals whose plans for their pregnancies are uncertain to consider alternatives to abortion including relinquishing the children for adoption or raising the children themselves.
