Provides financial assistance for kinship caregivers. Licensed foster parents are ineligible. Adults 18+ must be the primary caregiver for their friend's or relative's children. Must have exhausted all other financial resources.
Provides financial assistance for eligible families providing kinship care. Examples of items that qualify for financial assistance are listed below:
- Food, clothing, transportation, household items
- Legal custody filing fees
- School uniforms, supplies, field trips, band instruments
- Sports and youth activities registrations, fees, uniforms, tutoring
- One-time help with rent or utilities to prevent eviction or shut-off

Provides encouragement, advocacy and kinship caregiver support groups to relatives raising relative children.
Provides encouragement, advocacy and kinship caregiver support groups to relatives raising relative children. A relative may be a grandparent, aunt, uncle, adult sibling or someone who has a longstanding relationship with the minor child. Financial assistance is available to qualifying caregivers raising another relatives child(ren). Assistance can include utilities, food, clothing, car repair, rental/mortgage assistance, etc.

Assists kinship families in locating needed resources and services. The Navigator can accompany the family to CPS, Family Court, and School IEP Meetings to provide support and reassurance. The Navigator administers the Kinship Caregiver Support Program through one time financial grants to low-income Kinship Families. The Navigator is not an attorney and unable to provide legal advice or assist in completing any legal paperwork .
