Family Support offered at Children's Home Society of Washington's North Central Region

Parent Education
- Incredible Years Parent Training: helps parents understand how to build a positive relationship with their child. Available at the Wenatchee Family Resource Center or in-home. Currently provided through a contract with DCYF. Families are referred by their social worker.
- Project Safe Care: boosts parenting skills, while teaching how to improve the health of the child. Currently provided through a contract with DCYF. Families are referred by their social worker.
-Triple P: evidence- based program boosts parenting skills. Currently provided through a contract with DCYF. Families are referred by their social worker.
- Triple Point: Local program for LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex) youth, 12 to 18 years old. Provides a safe place where youth can make positive connections, learn about community resources, receive the support they need, receive counseling, as well as participate in regular meetings with other LGBTQ+ youth and group leaders.
School Success
- Readiness to Learn: works with children so they can be successful in school and in the community. Serves students in the Entiat, Eastmont and Wenatchee school districts.
- Truancy Invention Program: gives students a boost to help improve attendance. Serves students in the Wenatchee School District in partnership with Chelan County Juvenile Center.

- Online Parenting Classes: this 8 hour parenting skills class is an online course designed to enhance parenting techniques to better meet the developmental needs of children as they grow. This course is offered in both Spanish and English. Topics covered include; raising the next generation, parenting basics, what children need, role modeling, child neglect and abuse, and what children deserve.
- Defensive Driving Class: probation services offers defensive driving courses. The focus of our defensive driving course is to assist participants in discovering how their values and attitudes affect their driving behavior. Participants will learn how to make positive choices about their driving behavior. The objective of the defensive driving course is to educate participants about law abiding behavior and safe driving. The online option allows students to conveniently complete the course on their own time while not affecting their school or work schedule. Course is available in person and online.
- Theft Awareness Class: this class is designed for a variety of relatively minor theft offenses. Participants are encouraged to develop a personal commitment plan to avoid future theft-related problems and/or arrest. Course is offered in both English & Spanish. Available online and in person.
- Online Anger Management Classes: Provides educational opportunities for people who are interested in or who need to learn how to deal with their anger in a positive, functional way.

Focuses on children's unique needs prior to separation, during divorce, and in other family residential changes. Required by Kitsap County Superior Court.
This four hour seminar focuses on children’s unique needs prior to separation, during divorce, and in other family residential changes. Learn about developmental stages, the grief process, positive ways to communicate with your child’s other parent and much more. This seminar is approved by the Kitsap County Superior Court for parents involved in divorce, legal separation, or paternity actions. Please visit the Kitsap County Superior Court website to learn more about this court requirement. We do not allow co-parents to attend the same class without additional documentation. Contact the class coordinator to receive the proper paperwork if you and your co-parent wish to attend the same class.

Mother2Mother: Offers a 10-week parenting education program for mothers of children birth to 3 years who have histories of childhood trauma. The program addresses topic such as social connection, resiliency, coping with stress, forming mother-child bonds, disciplining children, and other parenting topics relevant to mothers who have experienced trauma. The program is offered for free and childcare is provided.
The Incredible Years: Offers weekly group meetings for parents where they learn about building strong relationships with their children using play and praise, as well as effective discipline strategies. Free childcare is provided during the parenting education program.

Parenting Classes offered by Catholic Charities Serving Eastern Washington at PREPARES Family Center
Teaches parents to identify, understand and respond to their child's needs. Classes are open to parents of children aged 5 and under, as well as pregnant women and their partners. Participants receive a certificate of attendance.
Offers supportive services for parents and caregivers to build loving bonds with their children preparing them for healthy futures.
Essential Needs:
- Provides diapers of various sizes, wipes and formula based on availability. Can receive additional supplies every 30 days.
- Provides clothing sizes newborn to 2T every 60 days. Takes up to two business days to fill order.
- Offers other essential items every 60 days such as Baby bathtub, stroller, highchair, etc. based on availability.
Parenting Classes:
- Circle of Security teaches parents to identify, understand and respond to their child's emotional needs. The 8-week course is offered quarterly for caregivers of children aged six months to five years.
- Baby Care 101 is a course providing expectant and newly parenting caregivers education and tools to learn how to care for their new baby.
- Toddler Care 202 is an interactive parenting series that covers child development, nutrition, sleep, potty-training, and more.
- Also offers an interactive music class for children ages birth-5 to attend with their caregiver.
