Offers a wide variety of fitness and recreational programs, family events and preschool, as well as classes teaching crafts, dance and music for all ages. 
Offers group fitness classes throughout the day. Sports programs include basketball, dodgeball, volleyball, soccer, badminton and pickleball.  
Swimming pool programs include lap swimming, water exercise classes, swimming lessons and swim teams.

Community Activities and Classes offered at Federal Way Community Center

Offers a wide variety of fitness and recreational programs, family events and preschool, as well as classes teaching crafts, dance and music for all ages.

Programs that provide creative recreational experiences in cooperative indoor and/or outdoor group living for children, usually age four to 13, or adults who are transported to the site each morning and who return to their homes at the end of each day. Transportation may be provided by the program or may be the responsibility of the family.

Day Camps

Programs that increase public awareness of the measures that people can take before, during and after an emergency, regardless of the type of hazard encountered, to protect lives and property. Included may be materials that introduce people to the possibility of a disaster in their area, help families prepare and practice a general disaster plan, provide disaster preparedness suggestions for special populations including people with disabilities and older adults, help families plan for the care of their pets in times of disasters and other similar topics.

General Disaster Preparedness Information

Programs that sponsor, organize and promote festivals, parades, fairs, memorial celebrations and other activities during religious and patriotic holidays and other special occasions.

Special Events

Programs that provide activities for people who want to improve their strength, flexibility, endurance, muscle tone, reflexes, cardiovascular health and/or other aspects of physical functioning.

Physical Fitness

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their skills in music composition and/or performance.

Music Instruction

Centers, often operated by the local community department of parks and recreation, that offer, at a single location, a variety of recreational facilities such as athletic fields and courts, a gymnasium, a swimming pool and locker facilities. Recreation centers usually offer an organized program of activities for community residents of all ages and provide all necessary equipment.

Recreation Centers

Privately operated, for-profit or nonprofit preschool programs based in community settings that have no specialized curriculum and are accessible to all children in the community. Activities generally include shape, color and number recognition; outdoor play; observation of nature and pets; fine and gross motor activities; pre-reading and pre-writing skills development; and opportunities for socialization. Community based preschools may offer half-day sessions (or less) that may be available to different groups of children on specific days of the week.

Programs that provide classes or individual lessons for people who want to learn or perfect their skills, grace, rhythm, coordination and individual expression when executing or participating in any of a number of different dance forms.

Dance Instruction

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their skills and techniques in any of a variety of visual art forms or crafts.

Arts and Crafts Instruction

Programs that provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy the organized recreational activity, sport or game of their choice. These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local, regional or state level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.

Recreational Activities/Sports

Provides drop-in recreational activities, including basketball, arts and crafts, theater, improvisation, music, billiards, hip hop instruction, and other special events.  
Also provides break dancing competitions, basketball, pool tournaments, and band shows.

Teen Programs & Drop-In Center offered by Shoreline Parks, Recreation & Community Services at Richmond Highlands Recreation Center

Provides recreation, tournaments, babysitting training classes and other special events for youth in grades 7th-12th.

Programs that provide opportunities for young people to learn the basic skills and emergency procedures that are required for the care of infants and small children. Some programs provide certificates for individuals who successfully complete the course.

Babysitting Instruction

Programs that provide an alternative, non-residential environment that people with any of a variety of issues can visit on an informal basis to find mutual support and access to social and recreational activities. People can drop by whenever they like without the need to make an appointment and have the option of participating in whatever activities are currently underway.
