Provides Autism screening for ages 18 months thru adulthood. A combination of observation, interaction, interview, and standardized screening questionnaires are used by a masters-level autism specialist to determine the likelihood of autism.

Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) is a program that extends and improves access to medical services. Provides access for identification, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of children under the age of 18 with physically handicapping or potentially handicapping conditions. It reduces the financial impact these services have on families who lack adequate resources for care.   Children with special health care needs may benefit from services such as:   Early identification of health or developmental problems,    Screening and/or assessment of the child and family's concerns, priorities and resources,    Tracking or monitoring,    Therapeutic intervention(s) including family education and support, and resource identification, referral, and coordination.    Home visits and/or telephone consultations with a Community Health Nurse can help provide Care Coordination Services.  And offer education about the following:   Medical problems, the care needs and available resources    Child behavior, growth and development, and Nutrition, basic baby and childcare    Parenting issues    Immunization information    Safety issues    Stress reduction    Taking care of yourself to prevent illness    Assist with problem solving and decision making

Offers screenings throughout the year to help identify children birth to 3 years old who may need special services. Special services can include occupational, physical and/or speech therapies, or a specialized early childhood program. Screenings will not show conclusively that a child has special needs, but it will indicate if he or she may need further assessment.

Provides a wide rage of services for children with special and developmental healthcare needs and their families. Integrates physical health, behavior, mental health, and educational services to optimize daily life for the child and family. Early intervention team members who support the family may include the following: Family Resource Coordinator (FRC), Birth to Three Teacher, Early Intervention Specialist, Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Physical Therapist (PT), Autism Specialist, Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), and/or Teacher of the Deaf (TOD).

Parent Child Health supports families in Kitsap with multiple programs. Our staff is available to provide referrals and guidance to all pregnant and parenting families in the county in multiple languages. A free, personal nurse for first time, low income mothers. New mothers receive support, education and valuable resources to be the best parent they can be.

Supports children and their families with milestones like walking, talking, eating, playing and learning. Offers developmental evaluations with team evaluation, regular re-evaluations and communication with child's physician. Treatment includes year-round special education, physical, occupational therapy and speech therapy provided in natural environments. Individualized service plans address motor, behavioral, social, cognitive, feeding and speech/communication skills in accordance with family concerns and priorities. Family support and social work services are also offered.

Provides evaluations, services and supports to families with babies and young children that have suspected developmental delays and disabilities. Services offered include: - Speech therapy - Occupational therapy - Special education Early intervention also provides coaching and support to parents and caregivers to build upon family strengths and help children reach their full potential.

Offers support to families for a range of health problems, including premature infants, children with autism and teens with diabetes. Staff assess children's needs, educate and counsel parents, and link families to health care and community resources. Local coordinators connect families to resources such as insurance, early intervention, disability related services such as therapies and other specialty services.

Provides services to children from birth through age 12 with developmental delays, disabilities, and prenatal substance exposure. Helps children meet healthy developmental milestones. Direct service providers are uniquely trained to provide trauma- and FASD-informed care. Supplemental programs include free Play & Learn Groups for children of all abilities, 0-5 years.

The Early Childhood Services at OlyCAP are focused on addressing the needs of families with children age five and younger.  Preschool, early childhood development, child care and family support services are offered at sites throughout Clallam and Jefferson counties.  Children enrolled receive a developmental screening, an individualized learning plan, at least two meals each day and an active learning experience on days they attend the center.  In addition to children services, each family enrolled receives support in accessing medical and dental care for their child, parenting education, home visits and help with finding needed services or resources in the community. Head Start/Early Head Start Head Start and Early Head Start programs promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families.  The program strives to engage parents in their children’s leaning and help them in making progress toward their educational, literacy and employment goals.  Additionally, the Early Head Start program promotes healthy prenatal outcomes, promotes healthy family functioning, and strengthens the development of infants and toddlers. Maternal Health Services provides community-based programs and services focused on providing preventive health and education for growing families throughout Central Washington. With a staff dedicated to giving families a healthy, hopeful start in life, Maternal Health Services offers programs in genetic counseling, maternity support services, maternal child health home visiting and coordination of regional perinatal improvement programs. By giving women the information and support they need to make healthy choices, Maternal Health Services strives to promote healthy babies and strong families. Offers a free program for children, ages birth through 18, who have or are at-risk of a chronic medical condition or special health care need. The program helps families access needed medical and social services for their child, connects families to health insurance programs & information (both private insurance & the state-funded Medicaid program), helps families help each other through parent support organizations, helps with concerns (such as feeding, nutrition, growth, development, and behavior), and provides developmental screening and assessment.

Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) is the Washington State Department of Early Learning program designed to be the first point of contact for any parents concerned about the development of their children. ESIT offers free developmental screenings for infants and toddlers along with an informational meeting for parents with a Family Resources Coordinator. Once a child is screened, a Family Resources Coordinator helps each family access the Early Intervention services through a referral system and provides each family with additional community resources for support.

Helps children ages birth to three reach developmental milestones. Families are matched with a Family Resource Coordinator and a team of specialists to help parents and children in any of the following areas: nutrition and feeding, play skills, sleep, speech and language, fine and grass motor skills and behavioral and emotional development, as needed. All interventions rely on evidence-based practice and are offered in the family's home. Program uses a parent coaching model, providing regular education and support to caregivers as they navigate their child's care. Staff support the whole family's needs by providing resources and advocating for both the child and the family.
