Serves those who are pregnant or have children under 1 yr old that receive medical insurance through the State of Washington. Provides professional in-home visits by a staff of licensed nurses, counselors, and dietitians for low income or at-risk pregnant women who are facing barriers to having a healthy pregnancy. Works with women during pregnancy and, depending on her needs, into her baby's first year of life. Each client is provided with one-on-one counseling and education, in her home or place of residence, to help her have a healthy pregnancy and take needed steps to prepare and provide for her family. Also assists with resources for housing for homeless clients (when funding allows), life skills classes, community events, vital needs (such as diapers, car seats/cribs and food), job training, and many other services and resources to help women succeed. Moms can also continue to attend events and gatherings, even after they are not currently in the program. May also provide information on Safe Sleep and access to cribs to those receiving services.

The goal is to improve the parent(s) self-sufficiency in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services. *  Services are offered in: Grandview, Prosser, Spokane, Toppenish, Walla Walla, Wapato, and Yakima.   Maternal Child Health: Enables healthcare providers to address healthcare needs and concerns regarding the child. The Port Angeles Resource Center, fondly known as the Orville Campbell House, at First Step offers a safe place to find resources for your family. We have a free clothing and equipment closet, information and referrals, indoor and outdoor children’s play area, free diapers and formula, access to phones, computers, fax and copier, healthy snacks, free children’s books, and a Little Free Food Pantry and Fridge!

The New Parent Support Team (NPST) is a voluntary program for expectant/new Navy parents.  Home visitation is the core service, with a focus on the health needs of infants and toddlers, prenatal and postnatal care, parent education, family/social support, and resources within the community.  Services focus on supporting the parent as well as parent-child interaction and child development.

Services include maternal/child health; primary care; Elder Screen; WIC; Twelve-Teen Program; First Steps & Teen Pregnancy Coordinator; Community Health Nursing; and Community Health Representatives. Maternal Health Services provides community-based programs and services focused on providing preventive health and education for growing families throughout Central Washington. With a staff dedicated to giving families a healthy, hopeful start in life, Maternal Health Services offers programs in genetic counseling, maternity support services, maternal child health home visiting and coordination of regional perinatal improvement programs. Services available: - Central Washington Genetics Program: Offers genetic counseling, specialized genetic testing and diagnostic services. - Maternal Child Health Program: Provides office and home visits by a community health nurse or a licensed counselor. For those who need assistance with nutrition, a WIC (women, infants and children) program is located adjacent to the Maternal Health Services office. By giving women the information and support they need to make healthy choices, Maternal Health Services strives to promote healthy babies and strong families. All services are available in English and Spanish.

Provides a nutrition program and food assistance for pregnant and postpartum women and infants and children under age 5.   Offers: -  Nutrition and health assessments and education -  Breastfeeding counseling -  Vouchers for specific nutritious foods -  Health screenings and referrals -  Referrals to other health and social programs Monthly benefits are valued at approximately $150 for a family of two per month for nutritious foods. Families can also use their WIC QR code to spend summer Farmers Market benefits and monthly Fruit and Vegetable benefits at approved farmers markets and farm stores. Participants can receive $28 of Farmers Market benefits, with a maximum of $84 per family.
