The Port Angeles Resource Center, fondly known as the Orville Campbell House, at First Step offers a safe place to find resources for your family. We have a free clothing and equipment closet, information and referrals, indoor and outdoor children’s play area, free diapers and formula, access to phones, computers, fax and copier, healthy snacks, free children’s books, and a Little Free Food Pantry and Fridge!

Serves those who are pregnant or have children under 1 yr old that receive medical insurance through the State of Washington. Provides professional in-home visits by a staff of licensed nurses, counselors, and dietitians for low income or at-risk pregnant women who are facing barriers to having a healthy pregnancy. Works with women during pregnancy and, depending on her needs, into her baby's first year of life. Each client is provided with one-on-one counseling and education, in her home or place of residence, to help her have a healthy pregnancy and take needed steps to prepare and provide for her family. Also assists with resources life skills classes, community events, vital needs (such as diapers, car seats/cribs and food), job training, and many other services and resources to help women succeed. Moms can also continue to attend events and gatherings, even after they are not currently in the program. May also provide information on Safe Sleep and access to cribs to those receiving services.

Program designed to help pregnant women receive the medical and social services they may need. All pregnant women covered under Medicaid (WA Apple Health) are eligible for services. Offers a team that helps advise and support mothers through their pregnancy. Team includes a: - Registered Nurse - Nutritionist - Behavioral Health Specialist - Community Health Worker - an Infant Case Manager. Services are provided wherever convenient for participants whether that be in home, clinic or in the community. Services may include, but are not limited to: - free pregnancy testing - assistance in obtaining early and regular medical care - assistance in applying for Medicaid Medical Insurance/Apple Health - nursing information and education about pregnancy, labor and delivery - diet and nutrition counseling - information and education about baby care and parenting skills - assistance in accessing dental and vision care - childbirth education classes - care seat safety and car seats - family planning services - assistance in obtaining paternity information - assistance with housing - transportation to all medical and dental appointments - substance abuse counseling - lactation, breastfeeding support and breast pumps - free crib program - perinatal, prenatal and postpartum anxiety/depression support and counseling.

Reproductive Healthcare Services Offers contraception, breast, cervical and colon cancer screening, STI testing/treatment, and menopause hormone replacement therapy or symptom management. Treats menstrual disorders (heavy periods, painful periods, irregular periods, abnormal uterine bleeding) and acute concerns of the breast or pelvic organs. Pregnancy & Postpartum Care Provides prenatal care with a team of Midwives and Family Practice providers. Services include routine prenatal visits, preparing for birth and staying up to date on important pregnancy immunizations, screenings and post-partum follow up. First Steps Helps meet the medical and social service needs of pregnant women covered by Medicaid. Registered nurses, registered dietitians, behavioral health specialists, community health workers, and infant case managers teach and support women throughout their pregnancy and up to two months post-partum. Offers infant case management until the baby’s first birthday by providing parents with information and linkage to community resources such as medical, social, educational, and environmental services.

Provides support and information to pregnant women related to prenatal and postpartum health.   Services that may be available: - Prenatal and postpartum education groups - Breastfeeding groups - Transportation assistance during pregnancy - Hospital tours in English and Spanish - Behavioral health counseling - Dental care Additionally provides support and guidance in the care of the infant from 2-3 months old through his or her first birthday for those who need additional help.

Provides individualized education and counseling services for women and their partners before and after birth.   Offers the Parental Support Services case management program for low-income people who receive state medical assistance.   Team includes a nurse, nutritionist and a social worker.

Services include maternal/child health; primary care; Elder Screen; WIC; Twelve-Teen Program; First Steps & Teen Pregnancy Coordinator; Community Health Nursing; and Community Health Representatives. The New Parent Support Team (NPST) is a voluntary program for expectant/new Navy parents.  Home visitation is the core service, with a focus on the health needs of infants and toddlers, prenatal and postnatal care, parent education, family/social support, and resources within the community.  Services focus on supporting the parent as well as parent-child interaction and child development.
