Telephone and in-office assistance with information and referral for services in the Stanwood and Camano Island area.  

Provides childbirth education, newborn care classes, safe sleep workshop, breastfeeding workshop/support, and other classes which vary by season.

Classes are free charge and open to anyone who would like to know more about the development of their child and how to best support them as they grow into adulthood. A meal and childcare are provided.  Please see survey for class offerings.

Offers family & parenting support through groups, like a mothering group for new mothers and parent support for couples and/or single parents with children up to age 3; child care and meals are provided during class. Offers individual support and referral services to help parents and families find the right resources to support their health and well-being.

Provides case management, support, and access to social services, increases parental involvement in their children's education and improves the academic achievement of at-risk students. Activities to accomplish the program goals vary from school to school, including parent education, family focused interventions, crisis support and referral to appropriate social service agencies. Family support workers assist low-income families with referrals to medical and dental services.   Program available on-site at many elementary schools in Seattle Public Schools.   However, since not all schools have an on-site worker, Family Support Workers serve the remaining schools on an as needed basis.

Provides human and health services with basic needs, mental health, transitional housing, housing programs for literally and chronically homeless households, case management, and family support services.

Offers assistance with essential needs and develops supportive, nurturing relationships to walk the journey with young families in need. PREPARES Baby Supply Bags: provides basic baby supplies, based on the age of the child and can include diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, books, and toys. Family Companions: provide an opportunity for a pregnant or parenting family to be matched with a trained family companion volunteer who gives the family ongoing support and encouragement. Find comfort and guidance with the support of a family companion who has walked the path of parenthood and empathize with its joys and struggles. Play and Learn Groups: facilitates play groups to support early brain development and kindergarten readiness: play group curriculum is based on the latest research in early childhood brain development and family engagement. Play groups give parents and informal caregivers a free, accessible place to meet other families and get support. Sessions are held weekly in community spaces in the child’s own neighborhood and language. Parents as Teachers (PAT): develops curricula, trains early childhood professionals, and certifies parent educators to work with parents to provide them with parenting support and information on their developing child. Vision: All children will learn, grow and develop to realize their full potential.

The New Parent Support Team (NPST) is a voluntary program for expectant/new Navy parents.  Home visitation is the core service, with a focus on the health needs of infants and toddlers, prenatal and postnatal care, parent education, family/social support, and resources within the community.  Services focus on supporting the parent as well as parent-child interaction and child development.

Provides connections to after school programs, camps, outreach and engagement, teen prevention programs, teen mentoring, a community gymnasium, and public events.

The program is specifically designed for families facing difficult life circumstances and parents who desire to develop family-building skills. Parenting Class: Parents learn the Positive Behavior Intervention Supports system, used by many school districts. Parents have the opportunity to connect on a deeper level not only with their own families, but with their peers. Kids Groups: Kids learn the life skills necessary to understand, talk about, and cope with what is happening in their lives in healthy, positive ways. Kids meet at the same time as Parenting Class.

The Port Angeles Resource Center, fondly known as the Orville Campbell House, at First Step offers a safe place to find resources for your family. We have a free clothing and equipment closet, information and referrals, indoor and outdoor children’s play area, free diapers and formula, access to phones, computers, fax and copier, healthy snacks, free children’s books, and a Little Free Food Pantry and Fridge!

For example women may receive education on Labor and Delivery, counseling services to help cope with the life changing circumstances that come with a new pregnancy, breastfeeding, and nutrition education. *  Services are offered in: Grandview, Prosser, Spokane, Toppenish, Walla Walla, Wapato, and Yakima.   Infant Case Management: Enables healthcare providers to educate and support women and their family after the baby delivery. Services are provided by a member of the agency's interdisciplinary team. The goal is to improve the parent(s) self-sufficiency in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services. *  Services are offered in: Grandview, Prosser, Spokane, Toppenish, Walla Walla, Wapato, and Yakima.   Maternal Child Health: Enables healthcare providers to address healthcare needs and concerns regarding the child. Helps families build on their strengths, find support networks, and promote overall well-being, through various programs. Parent Education - Incredible Years Parent Training: helps parents understand how to build a positive relationship with their child. Available at the Wenatchee Family Resource Center or in-home. Currently provided through a contract with DCYF. Families are referred by their social worker. - Project Safe Care: boosts parenting skills, while teaching how to improve the health of the child. Currently provided through a contract with DCYF. Families are referred by their social worker. -Triple P: evidence- based program boosts parenting skills. Currently provided through a contract with DCYF. Families are referred by their social worker. - Triple Point: Local program for LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex) youth, 12 to 18 years old. Provides a safe place where youth can make positive connections, learn about community resources, receive the support they need, receive counseling, as well as participate in regular meetings with other LGBTQ+ youth and group leaders. School Success - Readiness to Learn: works with children so they can be successful in school and in the community. Serves students in the Entiat, Eastmont and Wenatchee school districts. - Truancy Invention Program: gives students a boost to help improve attendance. Serves students in the Wenatchee School District in partnership with Chelan County Juvenile Center.

The ZONE is a resident-led initiative that works with partner organizations to bring programs and resources to Northeast Spokane. Partners are working on helping members with housing, after school and summer programs for children, food security, employment development, and more.

Offers children and family counseling, treatment for child victims of sexual abuse, and coordination of family support services, including parent education, parenting classes, and family advocate services. Also offers emergency food and WIC to promote the self-sufficiency and well-being of local families.

Offers free and confidential information, direct assistance and advocacy to individuals and families who speak Russian or Chinese languages and have limited English language skills. Helps people to navigate systems, find resources, learn about programs and connect to their community. Services include, but are not limited to the following: - Help with basic needs such as health care, food stamp, housing, financial security benefits, transportation, etc. - Sign up ESL and assistance in naturalization application - Assistance with children’s school issues - Signing up for social and recreational activities - Child care resources and school system – Informational and educational workshops All services provided are confidential.

Helps Spanish-speakers find needed social, health, or human resources in their community. Also provides individual advocacy and assists filling out documents.

A community hub where individuals and parents with children can attend programs and workshops, access community resources, connect with others, and receive information and referrals. Services vary by location but may include use of the phone, use of the fax, access to applications for subsidized apartments, and use of the computer work stations. Clients are not able to use the resource center as a mailing address.

Program that helps parents promote healthy development in children, and to deal with a wide variety of common social, emotional and behavioral issues and developmental concerns. This course is a prevention program and does NOT satisfy court ordered requirements. Programs available in English and Spanish. Course helps: - Strengthen family relationships - Encourage positive behaviors - Teach a child new skills and behaviors - Gain confidence handling disruptive or challenging behaviors - Taking care of yourself as a parent. Offers a Triple P Group where parents in similar situations can meet. Parents who can support each other and share their stories. Each group is 8 weeks,1-2 hours per week. Triple P Group is free and open to families with children ages 0-17.
